Dr. Mina Ghassemi 

After graduating from high school in England, Dr. Ghassemi obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the prestigious Ivy League Cornell University, majoring in Biological Sciences with concentration in Microbiology. She then successfully completed her medical education at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. During her studies in undergraduate and medical school, Dr. Ghassemi was a recipient of multiple merit-based scholarships, as well as being on the Dean’s list, and a member of honor society. She was also actively involved in many scientific and medical research projects, with recognition on the national level, throughout her education. 

Dr. Ghassemi successfully completed a rigorous three-year surgical residency training at the University Hospitals of Cleveland, working at multiple locations, including the Case Western Reserve University Hospital, as well as the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic Hospitals, where she not only surpassed her surgical numbers in both forefoot and rear foot surgery but also gained an extensive experience in foot and ankle reconstruction, diabetic wound care, limb salvage, sports medicine, and trauma. 

Dr. Ghassemi brings her outstanding dedication and knowledge to the Foot and Ankle Clinic and she takes pride in treating her patients with the highest level of compassion and care. Her practice focuses on providing comprehensive medical and surgical care for a wide spectrum of foot and ankle conditions, with an individualized and patient-centered approach to treatment. Dr. Ghassemi has hospital surgical privileges at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital, Cleveland Clinic Lutheran Hospital, and Cleveland Clinic Fairview Surgery Center. In addition to Dr. Ghassemi’s devotion to her patients, she is also committed in educating and training students and residents. She served as a teacher’s assistant throughout her undergraduate and medical school, trained medical students during her surgical residency, and is currently serving as an attending physician and surgeon at Cleveland Clinic Lutheran Hospital. 

Dr. Ghassemi is an avid volunteer, and has spent hundreds of hours volunteering with multiple organizations including the New York Cares and Cornell Cares Volunteer Organizations, as a member and as a team leader, helping children and adults of all ages, backgrounds, and needs. She is a bilingual (English and Persian) physician, who enjoys traveling, exploring the world, and learning about different cultures.
